  • Premium Quality Pump & Valve Packing for Demanding Applications.
  • Manufactured from 100% Gore GFO Fibre in the USA.
  • Teflon® & Graphite Blend offers the best of both materials.
  • Exceptional Chemical Resistance, High Pressure Capability and Good Heat Resistance.

For the most demanding pump and valve sealing jobs, we offer our GFO Packing 8000T. This premium quality grade of compression packing is manufactured from 100% genuine Gore GFO® Fibre Filaments.

The resulting gland packing is used in stuffing boxes on all kinds of different equipment and offer several benefits. These are expanded on below:

100% GFO Fiber Certified Packing100% Gore GFO Fibre – Teflon® & Graphite Hybrid.

GFO® Fibre from Gore® is a specialised type of filament yarn that is something of a hybrid. This material is made from high quality graphite that is finely ground into tiny particles which are then encapsulated in a Teflon® (PTFE) matrix to eliminate graphite migration.

This filament is then spun into a dense, solid compression packing using an interlock braiding method. The result, embodied in our 8000T, is a pump & valve packing that combines the heat dissipation properties of graphite with the all-round chemical resistance of Teflon®.

Exceptional Chemical Resistance.

GFO Packing 8000T has excellent chemical resistance and can be used with almost all known chemicals across the entire 0-14 pH range (except strong oxidisers). 8000T is able to seal:

  • Strong Acids & Alkalis.
  • Ammonia & Bromine Gas.
  • Chlorine Gas.
  • Salt Water & Brine.
  • Petroleum & Synthetic Oils.
  • Aliphatic & Aromatic Solvents.
  • Steam.
  • Air.

Good Heat and Pressure Resistance.

8000T GFO Fibre Packing can withstand temperatures up to 290°C.

It is a tough, dense packing that is made using an interlock braiding method in the USA. When used for sealing in pumps, it can withstand operating pressures up to 20 BAR (300 PSI). In valves, maximum sealing pressure is 138 BAR (2000 PSI).

Interlock Braided for Long Lasting Performance.

The specialised interlock braiding methodology used for making 8000T leads to a compression packing which is dense, durable yet flexible enough to be easily installed. It also helps ensure high operating pressure resistance and long-lasting performance in demanding applications.

Suitable for Use in Sealing a Wide Range of Applications.

This high-quality grade of pump and valve packing is trusted for sealing critical equipment in industries around the world. 8000T GFO Packing can be used for…

Sealing Valves, Centrifugal Pumps, Rotary Pumps, Reciprocating Pumps and more.

We are pleased to offer this packing in a large range of sizes to suit the needs of different equipment. Custom packing rings made from this GFO Fibre Packing can also be produced upon request. Please do let us know if you would like more information on these.

How do I Cut It?

A box cutter (AKA Stanley knife) will get through our Style 8000T GFO Packing, though you may need to make multiple slices (especially with the thicker sizes). If you’re looking to ensure you achieve an exact 45° cut (for making packing rings) specialised packing scissors are best.

Do you make Packing Rings?

We can supply them, yes. We don’t make them ourselves but we do have some great partners who do here in Australia. If you’d like us to arrange some for you shoot us an email with the sizes and details of what you’re after and we can arrange a quote. We can usually turn these around fairly quickly (local stock and a local ring manufacturer helps a lot with this).
