Our Isoval 11 is a high quality, high performance grade of epoxy laminate used for all kinds of electrical insulation and mechanical support applications. This material is manufactured from heat resistant epoxy resin which is used to laminate layer upon layer of fibreglass. The result is a rigid, high strength sheet that can be cut or machined accurately and exhibits excellent electrical & thermal properties.
Isoval 11 meets or exceeds all requirements of NEMA G11 (and more). This quality rigid electrical insulation board is manufactured in Europe by Isovolta and is widely used throughout Australian industry and around the world. Some of the more important benefits and features of this epoxy glass sheet are expanded upon below while more technical details are covered on our Isoval 11 Technical Data Sheet.
Isoval 11 Epoxy Sheet is most commonly used for electrical insulation purposes. In these applications, it excels as it offers superior dielectric strength, breakdown voltage and electrical properties. These are summarised with the values below (more available on the TDS).
Insulation Resistance after Immersion in Water (IEC 167) |
13 kV/mm |
Breakdown Voltage at 90°C in Oil Parallel to Laminations (IEC 243) |
40 kV |
Permitivity at 50 hZ and 1 MHz (IEC 250) | 5.5 |
Dissipation Factor at 50 Hz and 1 MHz (IEC 250) | 0.04 |
Comparative Tracking Index (IEC 112) | CTI 180 |
Isoval 11 has been tested for thermal endurance in accordance with the stringent requirements of European Standard IEC 216. In this test, Isoval 11 recorded a thermal index rating (TI) of 180. This ensures that this high-quality laminate is capable of withstanding maximum operating temperatures of 180ºC long term.
Isoval 11 Epoxy Fibreglass Laminate can be used in electrical applications up to and including Class H.
Isoval 11 is a strong, rigid type of epoxy board that has excellent endurance, machinability and physical strength. It can be accurately machined to tight tolerances and has a high glass content which helps it withstand abrasion.
Since it’s been trusted and specified for decades, numerous aspects of this laminates physical strength have been tested over the years. Some of these are summarised in the table below with many more included on our Isoval 11 TDS.
