Our PTFE Packing Style 344 is a very high-quality grade of pump and valve packing. Style 344 seals with very low friction and is extremely long lasting. Being made from pure PTFE, 344 Packing also has excellent chemical resistance (0-14 pH) and excellent heat dissipation properties.
This grade is braided using 100% pure PTFE filament that is impregnated with a PTFE suspensoid blocking agent. It has no sacrificial lubricants which wear out over time which enables it to last. This packing is interlock braided in the USA and is a strong, dense grade which is still flexible enough to offer easy installation.
Style 344 can withstand temperatures up to 260°C. It has a shaft speed rating of 5.1 MPS (1000 fpm) and a pressure rating of 20.6 bar (300 psi).
As it is made from pure PTFE, it has excellent chemical resistance and will withstand attack from most liquids, fluids and media, including;
It is not suggested for use in sealing strong oxidisers.
Available in a selection of sizes, our PTFE Packing Style 344 is used around the world for a variety of demanding sealing applications. These include sealing centrifugal, rotary and reciprocating pumps as well as in valve sealing and other static applications.

A box cutter (AKA Stanley knife) will get through our 344 Packing, though you may need to make multiple slices (especially with the thicker sizes). If you’re looking to ensure you achieve an exact 45° cut (for making packing rings) specialised packing scissors are best.
Do you make Packing Rings?
We can supply them, yes. We don’t make them ourselves but we do have some great partners who do here in Australia. If you’d like us to arrange some for you shoot us an email with the sizes and details of what you’re after and we can arrange a quote. We can usually turn these around fairly quickly (local stock and a local ring manufacturer helps a lot with this).
