VA 8406 Industrial Super Glue is a versatile and high strength glue with very fast cure times and a low viscosity. This grade bonds exceptionally well to most forms of rubber (including EPDM) and plastics. VA 8406 Industrial Super Glue is clear and is made in Germany.
This industrial super glue creates very high strength bonds and is clear in colour. Full curing will take 24 hours but don’t let that figure mislead you, initial adhesion to rigid PVC occurs in only 2-10 seconds.
The sections below expand on the various features and capabilities of this professional quality super glue.
These low surface energy plastics are notoriously hard to bond. By priming the surface with our Contact Primer for Polyolefins before applying VA 8406 Glue, it can be done. This glue is already highly compatible with most plastics and can be used to glue even this low surface energy types through the use of this special primer.
VA 8406 has been approved for use in the foodstuffs sector by ISEGA.
VA 8406 Cyanoacrylate has a viscosity of 20 -50 mPa·s (at 20°C according to Brookfield). We classify this as a low viscosity which means this glue isquite thin and runny (aka wicking glue). This allows it to spread easily over surfaces and speeds up its adhesion.
VA 8406 Super Glue offer almost instant adhesion.
Like most glues, cure time for VA 8406 will vary depending on materials and the conditions you are bonding in. Maximum bond time will be around 10 seconds (bonding PVC in a cool area with low humidity). Usually it will be closer to 2-5 seconds.
Once fully cured, Our VA 8406 Glue will withstand continuous exposure to temperatures between -50°C and +80°C. It will also handle short-term spikes up to +100°C.
Squatting temperature is +150°C.

Yes, VA 8406 Industrial Super Glue has excellent compatibility with Neoprene Rubber (amongst other rubber types) and works well with metal surfaces (painted and non-treated). You can expect a strong bond in this application.
Cyanoacrylates are best kept refrigerated (especially in Australia). The container lid must be on air tight before storing it in the fridge which will extend the usable life of the glue significantly.
Not long at all. VA 8406 Industrial Super Glue is a very fast curing grade so you’re probably only talking about 10-15 seconds for most materials. This does vary a bit depending on things like temperature, humidity and the surfaces being bonded. Please refer to the Technical Data Sheet, on the media tab, which lists initial adhesion times for different types of materials.
