VM 120 Super Glue
Our VM 120 CA is a specialised type of cyanoacrylate (super glue). Unlike many others, this glue is made from methyl ester and exhibits a higher compatibility with metals.
Manufactured in Germany, this special type of super glue is widely used in the metal working industry, in machine construction and for engineering applications around the world.

VM 120 Cyanoacrylate Adhesive Key Features.
Engineered for Metal Bonding.
Our VM120 Glue is designed specifically for creating fast, high strength bonds with metal parts. It is suitable for bonding metal sheets and parts together as well as fixing non-metal parts (plastic liners, rubber protective sheet) to metal surfaces.
Based on methyl ester, this cyanoacrylate achieves the following shear strength ratings (DIN EN 1465) with various materials (more details are on the TDS found on the product pages):
Material | Shear Strength |
Steel |
25 N/mm² |
Aluminium |
19 N/mm² |
Rigid PVC Plastic |
12 N/mm² |
Nitrile Rubber |
>8 N/mm² |
Medium Viscosity CA Glue.
We classify our VM 120 super glue as having a "medium" viscosity. At 20°C, it has a listed viscosity of 100 - 130 mPa·s.
What this means in practice is that it's still fairly runny and can be spread easily, but it's not so liquid that it will be hard to accurately apply to complex bonding lines or small parts.
Extended Cure Time.
Partly due to this medium viscosity and partly due to its' formulation, VM 120 has an extended cure time which will allow for some short-term realignment of parts being bonded before the glue will set.
Like all super glues (and most other adhesives really), the actual time taken for initial adhesion will vary depending on the conditions in which you are bonding (the warmer the temp. and the higher the humidity; the fast the glue sets) and the materials being bonded. A summary of times for initial adhesion with VM 120 CA Glue is included below:
Material | Time for Initial Adhesion |
Aluminium |
50 - 70 Seconds. |
Nitrile Rubber |
10 - 60 Seconds. |
Hard PVC |
30 - 120 Seconds. |
