3M 60 PTFE Film Tape is a quality, versatile tape that can be used in a variety of applications. Thanks to the PTFE backing, this tape is ideal for creating a non-stick surface. It is coated on one side with a thermosetting, silicone high temperature adhesive that ensures good adhesion to a variety of surfaces. Adhesion to steel for 3M 60 has been measured at 3.2 N/10mm.
3M 60 Adhesive PTFE Tape is often used for its electrical insulation characteristics in applications such as (re)winding motor coils, insulating capacitors and wire harnessing.
In these applications if offers good insulation resistance (>1 x 106 megohms) and a strong dielectric breakdown of 9500 volts.
This thin, strong tape is very easy to work with and apply. It has a total thickness of 0.102mm (including backing and adhesive) and a reasonable amount of stretch; elongation at break is 200%. It is supplied on 3” cores.
3M 60 PTFE Tape with Silicone Adhesive is Flame Retardant in accordance with UL Standards (UL 510, Product Category 0ANZ2, File E17385.).
