Our range of Adhesive Primers has been specially selected to increase the bond strength of our huge rangeo fo adhesives, or in some cases with certain materials, to enable bonding in the first place. Each of the primers listed here is designed to work with at least one of our adhesives (usually more) and will make a significant difference to the final result.
Our range includes primers capable of letting super glues bond PTFE (Teflon), EPDM Rubber, Silicone Rubber and many other notoriously hard to bond materials. We'll be increasing and expanding this range over time so if your looking for to bond a particuarly stubborn material, and know that a primer will be required, please do not hesiate to let us know. We'll be happy to work with you on finding the best solution.
Each of the primers and activators in our range have been selected because they add capabilities to our adhesives.
Some, such as our Contact Primer for Polyolefins enable some of our industrial cyanoacrylates to bond otherwise impossible materials such as teflon. Others, work with out silicone or MS polymer adhesive sealants to increase bond strength and performance.
The activators are generally a little different. They modify the behaviour of the glues so that they cure differently to they would otherwise. For example; our Contact Adhesive Activator Spray AC no only speeds up the cure of our super glues, but reduces that blooming effect (where the glue goes white(ish)) which can be important for those using these glues for model making or other applications where the aesthetics of a joint matter.
