Description
- Pasty, one-part RTV Silicone for high heat applications up to 260°C (315°C short-term).
- Can be applied to vertical and overhead surfaces.
- Performance grade, acetoxy-cure silicones approved by the FDA, USDA and NSF. Also UL recognised and meets the requirements of MIL-A-46106 Gr.3 Type I.
- Particularly suitable for use in cooking and catering equipment due to its combination of heat resistance and food grade certifications.
RTV 106 High Temperature Silicone from Momentive is a specialised, heat resistant grade of silicone sealant. This silicone has a maximum continuous operating temperature rating of 260°C and will handle short-term exposure to up to 315°C.
It is a pasty, one-part RTV silicone with an acetoxy-base (acetic cure). This industrial grade silicone exhibits excellent adhesive to a wide range of surfaces, including:
- Metals.
- Stone.
- Ceramic.
- Glass.
- Silicone Rubber.
- Many Plastics.
It does not bond well to low surface energy plastics like PTFE or PE and care should be taken when it is used with plastic materials with a sensitive surface as the acetoxy cure cycle may damage these materials.
The pasty nature of Momentive RTV106 makes it suitable for application on vertical or overhead surfaces.
Once cured, RTV 106 has good flexibility and is very long lasting. It exhibits excellent weatherability, ozone and chemical resistance and very good dielectric properties.
