Rust Converter is a specially engineered liquid that neutralises rust on metal objects and surfaces. It is brushed directly onto the rusted part where it forms a metallic-organic iron complex layer that will be black in colour.
This layer then serves as a base coat for other coatings and permanent treatments. It can be painted or coated with one of our many anti-corrosion sprays (e.g. Zinc Spray) for appearance or enhanced protection.
Our Rust Converter is very easy to use. Once you have the surface cleaned and dry, simply apply directly onto the rusted area in thin, even layers with a paint brush or runner. Leave for 15 minutes and the surface should turn black. If not, another layer should be applied in 30 minutes. Before painting or coating the treated area, allow Rust Converter to evaporate for 3 to 24 hours (depending on conditions).
Rust Protection can be used on rusted parts located indoors or outdoors. This industrial-grade rust removal fluid has been engineered by Weicon in Germany and is trusted in many sectors around the world. It is widely used for facilities management and maintenance, on agricultural equipment and in many areas in the transport industry. It is also commonly used in the marine and shipping sector.
Once dry, our Rust Converter will withstand temperatures between -50°C and +80°C. If you decide against applying a top coat, the layer formed by Rust Converter itself is still very long lasting and an effective way of sealing rust. The coating will also offer good weather and UV resistance as well as excellent resistance to solvents.

The surface you will be treating needs to be dry, clean and free of dust, oil and grease. Remove loose rust, grease, dirt and paint residue with the aid of a wire brush, grinding disc or abrasive. Remove the generated grinding dust. Clean the surface (Weicon Cleaner S may be ideal).
