  • Universal style of spray adhesive that works with all kinds of materials and surfaces.
  • Very easy to use, fast acting and economical. One can will cover approximately 4m².
  • Perfect for bonding wood, thin veneers, cork, leather, rubber, sponge, felt, many kinds of plastic and much more.

Weicon Adhesive Spray is a universal type of spray adhesive used in all kinds of applications, industries and areas. This spray is ideal for creating fast, easy and permanent bonds for larger surface areas. It is particularly good for bonding lighter-weight materials but versatile enough to also bond heavier loads when required (more on this later).

Adhesive Spray is based on synthetic rubber and is a great choice for sticking all kinds of materials to themselves or to other surfaces. It is highly compatible with paper, cardboard, chipboard, wood, thin veneers, cork, leather, textiles, foam, rubber (except silicone), sponge rubber, foam rubber, felt and plastic films and thin sheets (except PVC and polyethylene).

Usually, you only need to spray Adhesive Spray onto one of the surfaces being bonded, allow to sit for a little while (usually about 10 minutes) then push the parts together. When higher strength bonds are required though (of if you’re working with very porous materials like open cell sponge) you can spray both surfaces.

On porous surfaces, this lets you bond them. On closed, dense surfaces (like rubber sheet) it will significantly increase the bonding power. Granted, you’ll go through more spray doing this but this versatility means one can of Adhesive Spray in your workshop can be used to bond light or heavier materials, depending on the job you have that day.

Manufactured by Weicon in Germany, Adhesive spray is transparent and very easy to work with. Bonds created with this spray will withstand temperatures between -20°C and +65°C once they’re dry.

How much will I need?

This depends on the types of material you are working with. If you’re bonding relatively dense (non-porous), light-weight materials like balsa wood or thin veneer you can expect a can to cover an area of about 4 metres squared.

This drops if you are working with porous materials (like open cell sponge) or you need to increase the bond strength and therefore decide to coat both surfaces being bonded.

Will this stick rubber to metal?

Yes. Adhesive Spray is very good at bonding both standard industrial rubbers and metal so there won’t be any issues. One exception is Silicone rubber. Adhesive Spray is not great at sticking to silicone (in fact, most adhesives aren’t with the exception of silicones and some specialised industrial grade glues).

How do I use it?

Adhesive Spray is very easy to use. Clean and dry the surfaces (we have a range of cleaners that may be ideal for this but they are not the only ones that will do the job). Apply Adhesive Spray to one of the surfaces you are sticking and give it time to dry until it is no longer stringy but is still tacky. This usually takes anywhere from 60 seconds to 15 minutes depending on the type of material and, more importantly, the temperature you are working in. The higher the temp., the faster the cure.

Once it has reached the point where it is still tacky but not stringy, push the two surfaces together and apply pressure.
