Weicon Aluminium Repair stick is a quick and easy to use solution for making lasting, non-rusting repairs to metal parts. It’s designed for filling holes, cracks and leaks in all kinds of metal components. It adheres particularly well to aluminium, stainless steel, brass, copper, steel and other metals, though it also bonds to wood, ceramics, stone and many plastics. It does not stick well to rubber elastomers.
Aluminium Repair Stick is dead-simple to use; just cut off the amount you want, mix by hand and apply. Once cured, this aluminium filled epoxy repair putty is aluminium-grey in colour and will withstand temperatures between -50°C and +120°C. Aluminium Repair Stick will not rust and can be tapped, drilled and sanded after it’s hardened.

No Tools Required.
Like all our Repair Putties, Aluminium Repair Stick does not require any tools (unless you count a pair of rubber gloves). Just cut off the amount you want, knead the two parts until they’re a single colour and apply.
That’s it. Aluminium Repair Stick will set hard (like metal).
Can be modified and machined once it’s set.

Fast Curing
Speaking of curing, Aluminium Repair Stick sets quite quickly. Assuming fairly normal working conditions (20°C and 50% relative humidity), you can expect cure times to be about…
- 35% Cured (Handling Strength) – 10 Minutes
- 50% Cured (Mechanical Strength) – 1 Hour
- 100% Cured (Full Strength) – 24 Hours.
These times are all based on about 25 grams of putty. If you mix more, cure times will be accelerated due to the nature of epoxy curing (exothermic reaction). Similarly, if you are working in warmer conditions, cure times will be accelerated.
Good Temperature & Chemical Resistance.
Once cured, Aluminium Repair Sticks have very good heat resistance and the ability to withstand attack from many different types of chemicals.
This epoxy putty handles continuous exposure to temperatures between -50°C and +120°C as well as short-term spikes up to 150°C (short-term being defined as less than 2 hours at a time).

For all the most common uses of Aluminium Repair Stick, it needs to stick to a surface to work. You can rely on this epoxy putty to do so as it has excellent compatibility with a variety of different surface types. These include:

- Stainless Steel

- Copper
- Other types of metal.
In addition, it also sticks well to other materials like wood, ceramic, stone, glass and many plastics. One thing it doesn’t bond well to is rubber so that should be avoided.
To get the best adhesion possible, we recommended giving the bonding surface a good clean before applying the putty. If you’re sticking to a really smooth surface, adhesion will be enhanced by roughening the bonding surface a bit first.
Electrical Insulation Properties.
For some applications, it’s important to only use compounds that have good dielectric strength. Since it’s based on filled epoxy, Aluminium Repair Stick has good electrical properties. It has a dielectric strength rating of 3 kV/mm (tested in accordance with ASTM D149) and an electrical resistance rating of 5 · 1011 Ω/cm (ASTM D257).
