  • Fast curing, two-part epoxy that cures with practically zero shrinkage.
  • Can be machined, drilled, milled, or filed after its cured.
  • Excellent compatibility with aluminium and other metals.
  • High peel & impact strength, paste-like viscosity for drip-free application.

Aluminium Minute adhesive is a strong, fast-curing epoxy designed for bonding metals and gap filling. This thick, pasty glue is a two-part epoxy but is very simple and easy to use. It cures fast at room temperatures and can be drilled, filed or machined once its set.

This quality epoxy glue is manufactured by Weicon in Germany. It is produced from epoxy resin with aluminium fillers. Its thick nature ensures it can be applied very accurately and, if gluing vertical surfaces, it will not drip.

This two-part epoxy is supplied in the special hand-operated double cartridge system. This ensures that you get the correct quantities of both part A & B without having to measure. It can be dispensed without the need for any special equipment.

Our Aluminium Minute Adhesive can be used to cover gaps up to 4mm. Pot life for this glue is 4-5 minutes. It will cure to around 35% of its final strength in about 25 minutes and achieve 50% of final strength after about 2 hours (full cure will take 24 hours).

This epoxy adhesive is highly compatible with Aluminium and other metals as well as many hard plastics (such as PVC of epoxy-glass). It is not suggested for use with rubbers or low surface energy plastics such as HDPE or PTFE.

Aluminium Minute Adhesive exhibits excellent peel & impact strength. More information on the various bond strength ratings for this glue is available on the specifications tab on this page.

Common Applications for Aluminium Minute Adhesive.

  • Bonding aluminium and other light metals.
  • Filling holes and cracks in aluminium housings or light alloy wheels.
  • Bonding and joining metal sheets, parts and components with high strength.

Does it come with a mixing nozzle?

No. You don’t need to use a mixing nozzle as the two parts can be mixed manually on the bonding surface once they are dispensed. Aluminium Minute Adhesive is compatible with Weicon Quadro Mixing Nozzles though if you would like to use one. These are available separately.

Should I store this in the fridge?

Definitely not. Epoxy Adhesives have a natural tendency to crystallise at temperatures below +5°C. This tendency is only made more likely to occur by wide variations in temperatures (e.g. taking in and out of cold storage).

If the epoxy crystallises it has a negative effect on working qualities and curing. It can be reversed by heating the adhesive to a maximum of 50°C (though no naked flame should be used) but this is an extra step it would be better to avoid if possible. Weicon Epoxy Adhesive are specially formulated (through careful selection of the base bisphenol A and F resins) to try and avoid this happening but it can’t be eliminated.

The best way to store Aluminium Minute Adhesive is to keep the unopened container out of direct sunlight and in a room with a consistent temperature of around 20°C.
