GMK 2410 Rubber Metal Contact Adhesive is a industrial-grade adhesive designed specifically for bonding rubber to metal and rubber to rubber. This high strength adhesive is used to create permanent, strong bonds and is usually used for larger surface areas.
In addition to its excellent compatibility with rubber and metal, GMK 2410 also works very well with cellular rubber (like our Neoprene Sponge Sheet), felt, insulation material, textiles, wood and many different types of plastic.
GMK 2410 is not recommended for bonding artificial PVC leather, PVC foam, polyethylene or polypropylene.
It is a polychloroprene (CR) based rubber adhesive that is yellow-ish in colour. Bonds created with GMK 2410 are not affected by humidity and exhibit excellent, permanent elasticity. Once fully cured, this adhesive will withstand temperatures between -40°C and +80°C as well as short-term spikes up to 100°C.
Contact adhesion time (which begins once the surfaces are pressed together) is approximately 10 minutes with some variation due to temperature and humidity to be expected. Full cure will be achieved after about 24 hours. GMK 2410 is manufactured in Germany by Weicon.
This versatile industrial contact adhesive is available in a large range of sizes and forms to suit the needs of all the different applications in which it is used.

Both. GMK 2410 Contact Adhesive only works when it has been applied to both the surfaces being bonded. There is a chance with some particular materials you will achieve adhesion with just one but it is not at all recommended.
This depends on a few things, how thick you like to put down the adhesive, how porous the material is (you’ll go through more with felt then steel) and how large the area is you’re bonding.
All that being said, the standard rule of thumb is to allow for using around 250-350 grams of adhesive per square metre being bonded. Obviously, this will vary depending on individual circumstances though.
With GMK 2410, it’s not so much pot life you need to worry about as evaporation time. Try to close the container up as soon as you’re finished using it and it should be fine.
As for evaporation time, the best way to use this adhesive is to apply to both surfaces and allow to dry for about 5-10 minutes. Basically, you need to wait until the material is dry but still feels a little bit tacky to the touch. That’s when you should stick the surfaces together and apply pressure. If you wait too long before sticking them, the adhesive will have evaporated and another layer will need to be applied.
