Our Solar Cable Stripper No. 7 is a very easy to use automatic wire stripper. This premium grade tool has been designed specifically for solar cables and easily cuts through their heavy insulation sheathing leaving only the exposed conductor. It’s an automatic wire stripper that requires no adjustment for different size cables; simply set the length you want to strip back and pull the trigger.

Part of our family of automatic wire strippers, the simple appearance of these tools hides their outstanding capabilities. All are ergonomically shaped and fit well into your hand. They also have an automatic scanner system built in which determines the cable diameter and ensures only the insulation is stripped.

Manufactured by Weicon in Germany, our Solar Cable Stripper No. 7 works with all round solar cables between 1.5mm² and 6mm² (16- 8 AWG). It has a 5-step length adjustment switch that lets you set the amount of insulation you want to strip back. This can be between 8mm and 24mm (5/16” – 1”).

In the handle is an integrated side cutter. Ideal for quickly cutting off parts of cable without having to grab another tool, this side cutter can be used on cables up to 3mm in diameter (1/8” Ø).

Like all Weicon tools, this Solar Cable Stripper is built to last. It has been made from fibreglass reinforced polyamide and features premium grade steel blades from Solingen, a leading source of German steel knife blades. These blades are then specially hardened to ensure they easily cut and remove the multi-level rubberised insulation used on solar cables.
