Basalt Woven Insulation Tape is a specialised type of high temperature insulation fabric. This tape is produced from basalt, an igneous rock with origins to molten lava. It is spun into fibres and assembled as yarns which are then expertly woven to form our Basalt Tape.

This tape is often selected as an alternative to fibreglass-based tapes. It is extremely hard wearing with very good abrasion resistance, high tensile strength and ease of handling.

Though it is essentially made from rock, Basalt tape is highly flexible and can be wrapped tightly around pipes and other objects. It has exceptionally thermal insulation capabilities and effectively reduces heat transfer.

Basalt Hard Wearing Insulation Tape is able to withstand continuous exposure to temperatures up to 649°C (1200°F). It will maintain its physical integrity up to 982°C (1800°F) though insulation performance will be reduced at these higher temperatures.

Basalt Heat Insulation Tape has excellent chemical resistance and is particularly resistant to most acids and alkalis. It is also 100% recyclable.
