FRAS Rubber is a specialised type of rubber that is used in areas where static build-up, ignition points or fire potential are considered to be high risk. This rubber sheeting is made from a SBR (styrene-butadiene rubber) polymer that is modified to give it its fire resistant and anti-static properties.
Our FRAS Rubber is independently tested and certified by the Mine Safety Technology Centre and meets the requirements of MDG 3006 / MDG 3608 Non Metallic Materials for Use In Underground Coal Mines.
This low static and fire-resistant premium-grade rubber has a variety of benefits. These include…
FRAS Rubber has good mechanical strength and moderate abrasion, impact and UV resistance. Our FRAS Rubber Sheet has a shore hardness of 65 Duro (Shore A) and a minimum tear strength of 60 N/mm.
This rubber is often used as a liner, protective barrier or wear pad and exhibits good resiliency.
Given that this rubber sheet is used in highly critical applications, it is subjected to additional testing. Areas of measurement include…
The calculated oxygen index is not less than 28%.
The mean value for Electrical Resistance on both upper and lower surfaces is not greater than 300 M? (300x106 ohms).
FRAS Rubber is most often used as a rubber skirt, lining, strip, pad or curtain. It is also used for making gaskets and seals and as an insulating, isolating or protection material. Some example uses for this rubber include:

We’ll always supply as long a roll as possible to give you maximum versatility (nothing worse than being just a little too short). Maximum roll length for all thicknesses listed here is 10 metres so if you ordered 8 of one size, it would be supplied in a single roll.
