Weicon VA 8312 Industrial Super Glue is a high strength grade of super glue with close to instant adhesion. It is a semi-transparent super glue designed for bonding plastic and rubbers, though it can definitely adhere to other surfaces and materials. It has been tested and approved by ISEGA as an adhesive for use with food technologies and is made in Germany.
The sections below expand on the various features and capabilities of this professional quality super glue.
These low surface energy plastics are notoriously hard to bond. By priming the surface with our Contact Primer for Polyolefins before applying VA 8312 Glue, it can be done. This glue is already highly compatible with most plastics and can be used to glue even this low surface energy types through the use of this special primer.
When used in combination with our special Contact Filler for Super Glues, VA 8312 can instantly fill small cracks, holes and clefts. For more information on how this process works, please visit our dedicated Contact Filler product page.
VA 8312 has been approved for use in the foodstuffs sector by ISEGA.
VA 8312 Cyanoacrylate has a viscosity of 20-40 mPa·s (at 20°C according to Brookfield). We classify this as a low viscosity which means this glue is quite thin and runny (aka wicking glue). This allows it to spread easily over surfaces and speeds up its adhesion.
VA 8312 Super Glue offer almost instant adhesion.
Like most glues, cure time for VA 8312 will vary depending on materials and the conditions you are bonding in. Maximum bond time will be around 60 seconds (bonding Aluminium in a cool area with low humidity). Usually it will be closer to 5-30 seconds.
Once fully cured, Our VA 8312 Glue will withstand continuous exposure to temperatures between -50°C and +80°C. It will also handle short-term spikes up to +100°C.
Squatting temperature is +150°C.

Yes. VA 8312 bonds well to high surface energy plastics (like Nylon) so you can expect a good strong bond. Make sure you follow the advice on both the Technical Data Sheet (on the media tab) and the glue pen with respect to surface preparation (i.e. make sure it’s clean and dry).
It depends a little on the conditions the glue is used in. Generally speaking, you’ll probably be fine with most materials after 30-60 seconds (at most); this time can vary. For example, if you’re using VA 8312 to bond neoprene rubber to PVC initial adhesion will be achieved in about 30 seconds if the environment you’re working in is around 23°C and 50% humidity. Warmer temperatures or higher humidity will speed this up.
Cyanoacrylates are best kept refrigerated (especially in Australia). The container lid must be on air tight before storing it in the fridge which will extend the usable life of the glue significantly.
