Our Plastic Metal TI is a industrial grade epoxy repair compound designed for demanding applications. This pasty compound is made with titanium fillers and cures to form a solid mass with very good pressure resistance and high mechanical strength.
Cured Plastic Metal TI will have a tensile strength of 53 MPa and compressive strength of 66 MPa.
Shore Hardness will be about 83 Shore D. This epoxy is one of our higher temperature grades and can withstand continuous temperatures between -35°C and 200°C after curing. It will also tolerate short-term exposure to 260°C.
This easy-to-use epoxy has a thick, pasty texture before curing. It can be applied in layers up to 10mm deep per cure cycle and it has an extended pot life of 120 minutes for a mixed batch.
After about 7 hours, Plastic Metal TI will achieve around 35% of its final strength and additional layers can be applied if desired. Full cure will take around 18 hours depending on the conditions.

Some of the more common applications for this grade include repairs to pumps, valves, wear plates, ball bearing seats, shafts and propellers. It is also often used for (re)lining pump housings and slide bearings.
This epoxy resin system is used in the engineering and repair industry, for heavy equipment maintenance and in the marine sector. It is registered with both the ISSA (75.509.22/23) and IMPA (812945, 812946).
